"MR BLUE´S & THE BEAT MACHINE: lör 14/8 Bluestältet,
Malmöfestivalen.
Simon Lindekrantz sång, Lasse Malmsjö keyboard, Henrik "Pilen" Pilqvist
gitarr, Gian Kündig bas och Martin Bällgren trummor, sång.Undertecknad
råkade av en slump befinna sig i Malmö 14/8 och passade då på att "spionera" lite
på "Mr Blue's & The Beat Machine" som spelade i bluestältet
på Malmöfestivalen. Det här bandet gick verkligen hem
hos publiken i det fullsatta tältet. Ljudet var bra och det svängde
rejält. Simon gjorde som vanligt ett mycket övertygande intryck
på sång. I några låtar satte sig Pilen bakom
trummorna medan Martin Bällgren tog över som sångare
och munspelare. Martin imponerade också stort, såväl
på sång som munspel. Givetvis resulterade även Pilens
och Lasses insatser på gitarr resp piano i applådskaror från
publiken. När en bra basist spelar i ett band kommer jag ofta på mig
själv med att jag stundtals lyssnar endast på basspelet, så även
denna gång. Snyggt och smakfullt spelat av Gian Kündig.
Efter "Mr Blue's & The Beat Machine" spelade "Three Studs
And A Stone". Det var också ett bra band med kompetenta musiker
men de saknade något som "Mr Blue's & The Beat Machine" hade."

4:14 pm Mönsterås Bluesfestival made a phonecall to Lasse.
-They wanted Lasse & Simon (only) dead or alive as artists at the festival
-2004 - 2005 . Lasse
wanted to add a bassplayer to the duo - Mönsterås agreed on that.
Later this afternoon a complete band (guitarr & drums) was set!
- The Beat Machine was born!!
Only one slight problem was to be fixed.. We didn´t have a clue who actually
shoud join the band!
(At this point - we hadn´t even yet agreed on what the band actually
should be called except from "Mr Blue´s") - So, in a matter
of speaking - there was a few things left to take care of... ;-)
P.S. By the way - Malmöfestivalen called us up that very evening...
- No problem! Lasse said. (Since we "already" had a band!)
